Clare's Little Bears Story
Clare’s Little Bears was established in 2016, when Clare first began her journey as a dedicated childminder. Her home quickly became a safe, warm, and nurturing environment where children were cared for with love, patience, and a deep respect for their individual needs. As her passion for early years education continued to grow, Clare expanded her vision and proudly opened her first preschool in the heart of the Old Town.
Building on this success, she went on to open a Forest School based in Hampson Park, giving children the opportunity to learn and thrive through outdoor play and exploration. Most recently, Clare has opened a preschool in Hampson, further extending her commitment to providing high-quality early years education to the local community.
At Clare’s Little Bears, we believe the early years lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
Our teaching approach nurtures curiosity, creativity, and resilience, offering children opportunities to explore, experiment, and make sense of the world around them. Through carefully planned activities, playful experiences, and responsive interactions, we support children’s development across all areas, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical, helping them build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of self belief.
Our approach blends child-led exploration with Montessori-inspired principles. We believe children learn best through hands-on experiences, independence, and real-life activities. Sustainability is at the heart of our practice, using natural materials, encouraging eco-friendly habits, and teaching children to care for their environment with mindfulness and respect.
At the heart of our outdoor learning provision is our dedicated Forest School, where children are encouraged to explore, take risks, solve problems, and develop a lifelong appreciation for nature. These enriching experiences support children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Across all of our settings, our dedicated, passionate, and highly skilled team shares Clare’s love for children and her commitment to creating a warm, nurturing, family-orientated environment where every child feels safe, valued, and supported. We celebrate each child as an individual, encouraging them to develop confidence, curiosity, independence, and a strong sense of belonging. Through meaningful experiences, caring relationships, and a child-centred approach, we help every child thrive and shine in their own unique way.

Our baby room, a serene and cozy haven designed for the utmost care of your little ones. With a maximum of six babies at a time, we ensure that each child receives the warm and individual attention they deserve.
Old Town setting is a caring, nurturing nursery, where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn and grown.
