9:15 / 13:00
Session starts. Parents/carers sign their children in and are greeted by staff. Parents/carers are asked to help their child find their name stone and place in tray. Children are free to play with the activities that have been set up for the day, e.g. sand, play dough, small world etc.
9:30 / 13:15
The children gather for a short welcome. We greet the children with a welcome song and proceed to count the children. Then it’s the children’s turn to count the number of staff and helpers. We discuss the day and sing songs about the days of the week and the months of the year. The day’s activities are discussed.
9:45 / 13:30
The activities begin. On some days we may have happy little yoga, bouncing bears, story time, mindfulness sessions and supersports. On a typical day the door to the garden will now open. Outside is free flow for the children, subject to weather. The activities will be varied and change daily to ensure we have relevant activities for all children and to support the key areas of learning. Although we do offer planned activities every day, all our pre school resources are available to the children at all times.
10:00 / 14:30
Snacks are prepared and placed on the snack table. Children have a choice of healthy snacks. Fruit, vegetables, cheese, crackers and cereal are among the things on offer. During special cultural days we offer food from around the world. Milk is provided or the children can use their water bottles. The snack area is free flow and is open until 11am/15.30pm. We will encourage all the children to have a snack during this time. Children wash and dry their own cup and plate when they have finished and activities continue throughout snack time.
11:45 / 15:15
All children are encouraged to help tidy away.
11:55 / 15:25
We all then sit together for singing, stories and treasure basket time. The treasure basket is our version of show and tell. Children have the opportunity to speak and ask questions.
12:15 / 15:45
Parents/Carers collect their children.
12:15 / 12:45
We also offer extended learning groups for 3 and 4 yr olds. .
